PEER-TO-PEER is a free, 10 session education program for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand their condition and journey toward recovery. Taught by a trained team of people who've been there, the program includes presentations, discussion and interactive exercises. Everything is confidential, and NAMI never recommends a specific medical therapy or treatment approach. This in-person group experience provides the opportunity for mutual support and positive impact. You'll experience compassion and reinforcement from people who relate to your experiences. NAMI BASICSis a free, 6 session education program designed for parents and other family caregivers of children and adolescents experiencing mental health challenges. As a caregiver of a child or adolescent with a mental health condition you face unique challenges: social stigma, complex family dynamics, navigating the school system, unpredictable behavior. It can be overwhelming. NAMI Basics provides you with skills, knowledge, and a community of people who can relate to your experience. You will learn from people like you, who get it, who have been there. Trained peers will guide you on how to better understand and support your child while maintaining your own well-being.

Participants learn about diagnoses, treatment, recovery, communication strategies, crisis preparation and NAMI resources. MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID(MHFA) USA is a groundbreaking public education program that helps the public identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health conditions and substance use disorders. Mental Health First Aid is offered in the form of an interactive 8-hour course that presents an overview of mental illness and substance use disorders in the U.S. and introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews common treatments.
